     » Joan's Bike Project -  2006 & Beyond«

This page will be the beginning phases of my bike project. A Custom Bike!

Now that I've made some progress in actually riding - my attention has turned to the impressive array of bikes out there in the biking world. Last year I met bikers with really wild custom bikes. I was impressed with how low the seats of the bikes were and that started the wheels turning in my head.

That would be great!. Get your feet on the ground. Awesome color and design. But it wasn't until I actually sat on one and set it up - Wow - that was easy -  that the wheels in my head picked up speed. I was beginning to understand the appeal of these bikes. I'm still not sure if it's the mechanics or the zany, cool designs or both that attracted me. Go to a bike ride-in, bike show, or watch Orange County Choppers and custom bikes are "the attraction." Custom bike builders are changing and improving our world with their art - and they are art!

So, I'm thinking about custom bikes and will this be an actual project - building a custom bike? Who can tell what is around the bend in the road. I do know that if you never dream it's hard to get some results! Any dreamers out there with a bike building story?

»If you would like to add your two cents to this discussion about custom bikes you can«

If you have the Discovery Channel you've been watching Orange County Choppers - probably - If you're a biker.

These guys live the dream - build your own bike!!!
