My name is Barbara, I live in Onalaska WI ... riding here is great, lots of good places to ride. We ride along the Mississippi River here. Ladies please make sure you are comfortable with your bike. I have a 650 Suzuki Savage, it's been a great bike for me to learn on. I've been riding for 5 years now, this is my 2nd Savage. I really like the fact that I can touch the ground flat footed, it's a great little bike for around town, and has great response when getting on the highway. Barbara J

Hello, I just came across your site while doing research on the Rebel 250 for a customer. I think it is very cool that you are offering web space for women riders! I just recently opened an all women's motorcycle shop in Sacramento, CA called "Go Moto". Well I just wanted to say hi and give you props on your website. The picture of me is at the Sacramento Raceway. I'm "burning out" and getting ready to Drag Race on my 2003 Kawasaki ZX7R Have a great day!

Hi, I've recently taken the Motorcycle Safety Course and bought the Harley Sportster. Since I had not ridden in awhile I decided to buy a Honda Rebel 250 to work on my skills and ease onto the Harley a little slower. It seemed sensible and it was a good decision. Both of my new bikes are used so I'm getting them tuned up and ready for safe riding. I'll have a mechanic check them over. I want to ride in Charity Rides and meet some ladies to ride with in my area. It would be great to have their support. Thanks for your website! Judy, Gainesville, FL. J P Ride the Wind!

I just got my "SUZIE" last week. LOVE IT! My husband has owned bikes for years and I've always been on back. I just finished my riders course and we went shopping. I "tried on" all the bikes and fell in love with my fiery red Suzuki Boulevard C50 800cc Limited Edition. Having loads of fun!! Lynn D. J P Ride the Wind!

Hi! My husband gave me a great Mother's Day present this year a week after completing my MSF course and getting my motorcycle endorsement. She's a great-looking 2001 Yamaha V-Star 650.... beautiful, black, and chrome. My husband is bewildered at my wanting to name "her." I'm still trying to come up with a good one. I want you to know I do "NOT" ride in such attire... I'm just posing on it here. I'm loving the feeling of riding on my own and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner! Karen C. J P Ride the Wind!

Dawn and her Surprise Anniversary Bike before the party! © © ©
Dawn in her Party clothes with that wonderful man! © What a great site to have stumbled upon!! I was surprised by my husband this past Friday, April 21st, 2006 for our one year anniversary when he insisted I go with him to the local Harley Dealer to see what
they had in the way of saddle bags for my Yamaha. After waiting 45 minutes for
the busy paying off our wedding.... When he finally got to us he wanted to show us some new inventory and I was anxious to just see the bags and get out of there since I had to primp for our big anniversary dinner.
Much to my surprise he led me to the bike I dreamed of and it was even in the color I mentioned I would like. After sitting on it for about 2 minutes, my husband turned to me and handed me the title and said "Its your, hon. I ABOUT DIED!!! We both shed some tears. Little did I know he had ordered it for me last November. I was unable to ride it home as I had flip flops on and no riding gear with me but low and behold, my husband had sneaked HIS GEAR in the trunk of the car so we could get it home. Needless to say, I had to get ready for a big night ahead and was only able to sit on it in the driveway and then into the garage it went. It's been pouring rain ever since.
I guess that's why they say "Patience is a virtue". Note: Ladies, isn't this a wonderful bike story! We could use some more men like this in this world! Dawn is one lucky lady and thanks for sharing this story with us Dawn. P Ride the Wind!

Hi there! Great site for encouraging new women riders. I've had my license for a year and it's been great! Riding is a meditation and mental vacation for me. I started with a '97 Yamaha Virago 535 and in 10 months moved up to a 2001 Yamaha V Star 1100. I'm still getting used to the extra weight of the V Star but I love how much sturdier it is on the freeway even though it's bulkier around town. I like your advice of holding onto both bikes. I believe in riding at your own pace and always sober. It's great to see so many other smiling sisters! Aruna J P Ride the Wind!

I started riding at 52 - 5 years ago. I have a Custom 883. I'm looking for a larger bike at this time. I wish that I would have kept riding when I had my first Harley 25 years ago. Oh well - I have one now! This picture was taken in Lemon Park - in Pratt Kansas - if you are ever in the area - it is worth the find! Ride Safe ! Sue J P Ride the Wind!

« « Terri & Her Harley Davidson Motorcycles » »
I absolutely LOVE to ride. I started riding mini bikes with my twin brother back in the 70's. I graduated to dirt bikes and then got the fever and bought my first Harley at age 18, a 1976 1200cc Superglide. I stopped riding for awhile after I had 3 daughters, but once they were grown I was back out on the road again. I bought an 883 XL Sportster in May 2005 and just traded her in on a 2006 Softail Deluxe. Nothing compares to this ride. My fiancé and I ride all the time. He has his own of course! Keep the wind in your hair! Terri McIntosh, Dallas Texas! P Ride the Wind!

« « Susann's Kymco 110cc Active » » Hi, here comes a greeting from distant Sweden! I was happy to find a site for female motorcyclists. In the 80's I had a Yamaha 400 cc V-Twin but I had to sell it because of health problems. I can't take long trips but this bike gets me around and I enjoy every day I'm able to ride it. The motor- cycle season here is between April/May - Sept./October, depending on the weather. In Sweden you have to wear a helmet when riding, it's a law and insurance companies demand that you wear protective clothes, gloves and boots. Joan will place a link for Kevlar-linen denim clothes from Australia on her tip/news page. Greetings from Susann in Angelholm, Sweden! J P Ride the Wind! « « Pennie & Her Honda Rebel 250 » »
I just wanted to say I enjoyed your web pages. I read with interest your comment about even 30 mph. being too fast until you got used to it. I can relate. I have only been riding 6 months and I did take a Motorcycle Training Course. This picture was taken when I got my bike last December. I live on the West Coast, north of Vancouver. The highway up the coast is twisty, turny, and just 2 lanes. Motorcyclists love it but it isn't very forgiving if you make a mistake. I read somewhere that (in BC anyway...) 54% of people taking the motor- cycle training were women! They are also more cautious and actually better riders... no doubt! Pennie J P Ride the Wind!

Hi, I enjoyed your site. I was wondering what type of full face helmet you recommend? I'm a new rider at 47. Just took the Beginner Motorcycle Course and passed! Waiting for my license to arrive. Bought a new bike. It's my first. A Suzuki Boulevard S40. 650cc. I also live in Upstate New York. Here's a picture of me and my new bike. Don't worry, I won't be riding in short sleeves. Her first bike - a Harley Davidson Sportster XL 1200
And .... Her Harley Davidson 2005 White Fat Boy
Thank you for having a place where I can come to talk Bike Stuff! I bought my first bike, a Sportster XL 1200 on May 16, 2005. I did not know how to ride it when I bought it but a friend taught me how to ride. On June 18, 2005 I traded it in for a 2005 White Fat Boy. I love to ride - I learned and upgraded in thirty days. I am changing the pipes to Thunder Headers, white wall tires with 80 spokes rims, hard case saddlebags I painted white, and I painted the 10" ape hanger handlebars white, pilot grips and foot pegs. I will send you a new picture as soon as the bike is finished. I was wondering if I will have a hard time adjusting to the handlebars? Sheila P Ride the Wind! « « Cindy & her 2003 Buell Blast » »
