Hello, I was in your site today and find it to be very informative and the best part about it is

that I see there are other women riders out there with the same bike as mine (2003 Sportster 883 Hugger) and also women the same height as I am (4'10") yippee!).

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

My name is Barbara, I live in Onalaska WI ... riding here is great,

lots of good places to ride. We ride along the Mississippi River here.

Ladies please make sure you are comfortable with your bike.

I have a 650 Suzuki Savage, it's been a great bike for me to learn on.

I've been riding for 5 years now, this is my 2nd Savage.

I really like the fact that I can touch the ground flat footed, it's a great

little bike for around town, and has great response when getting on

                                        the highway.

Hi, I've recently taken the Motorcycle Safety Course and bought the

Harley Sportster. Since I had not ridden in awhile I decided to

buy  a Honda Rebel 250 to work on my skills and ease onto the

Harley a little slower. It seemed sensible and it was a good decision.

Both of my new bikes are used so I'm getting them tuned up and ready

for safe riding. I'll have a mechanic check them over.

I want to ride in Charity Rides and meet some ladies to ride with in

What a great site to have stumbled upon!!

I was surprised by my husband this past Friday, April 21st, 2006 for our one year

anniversary when he insisted I go with him to the local Harley Dealer to see what

they had in the way of saddle bags for my Yamaha. After waiting 45 minutes for the
salesman, who I had met last fall when I so wanted the 2006 Softail Deluxe but was

busy paying off our wedding.... When he finally got to us he wanted to show us some

new inventory and I was anxious to just see the bags and get out of there since I had

to primp for our big anniversary dinner.

Much to my surprise he led me to the bike I dreamed of and it was even in the color

I mentioned I would like. After sitting on it for about 2 minutes, my husband turned

to me and handed me the title and said "Its your, hon.

I ABOUT DIED!!! We both shed some tears. Little did I know he had ordered it for me

last November. I was unable to ride it home as I had flip flops on and no riding gear

with me but low and behold, my husband had sneaked HIS GEAR in the trunk of the

car so we could get it home. Needless to say, I had to get ready for a big night ahead

and was only able to sit on it in the driveway and then into the garage it went. It's been

                           pouring rain ever since.

I guess that's why they say "Patience is a virtue".

Hi there! Great site for encouraging new women riders.

I've had my license for a year and it's been great! Riding is a

meditation and mental vacation for me. I started with a '97

Yamaha Virago 535 and in 10 months moved up to a 2001

                                                Yamaha V Star 1100.

I'm still getting used to the extra weight of the V Star but I love

how much sturdier it is on the freeway even though it's bulkier

around town. I like your advice of  holding onto both bikes.

I believe in riding at your own pace and always sober.

Hi, here comes a greeting from distant Sweden! I was happy to find a

site for female motorcyclists. In the 80's I had a Yamaha 400 cc V-Twin but

I had to sell it because of health problems. I can't take long trips but this

bike gets me around and I enjoy every day I'm able to ride it. The motor-

cycle season here is between April/May - Sept./October, depending on the

weather. In Sweden you have to wear a helmet when riding, it's a law and

insurance companies demand that you wear protective clothes, gloves and

boots. Joan will place a link for Kevlar-linen denim clothes from Australia on

                                    her tip/news page.

I live on the West Coast, north of Vancouver. The highway up the coast

is twisty, turny, and just 2 lanes. Motorcyclists love it but it isn't very

                                      better riders... no doubt!

The grandkids gave me a doggie. 5 months old Rocky is in the picture below. I have a pet backpack for him, and he loves riding. It feels really good having him snuggled up against my back.

Hi! I am so excited to see a page of all women and their bikes! I have just purchased my first motorcycle. It is a 2003 Sportster 883 and I love it! I think I will eventually get a larger bike, but I love my Sportster so much. I got it to help me

cope with life during a divorce, and it is working great! I ride when my kids are with their father, and sometimes get my mom to watch the kids while I ride.

I call my bike "my boyfriend." It has been a blast so far, and I cannot wait to take the motorcycle safety class. I have heard many experienced riders say it is the best thing they have ever done.

Tomorrow I have an interview with the parts department manager at the Santa Maria Harley Dealership!

Thanks to all the ladies who have contributed to this site. I am glad to be in such company. I will send a picture of myself on my bike soon.

« « Nellie and her 2002 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic - her latest  "best toy" » »

I had different bikes back in the 70's. I purchased a 350 Honda and a Midnight Maxum Yamaha. I had a child in 82 and one in 83. Then the bike was gone. I spent 30 years raising my children. I also let my motorcycle license expire thinking I would never have another bike.

After my children were grown I decided to get another bike.

First I purchased a Yam 1100, it was a great bike but I

found myself wanting to go farther and farther so I decided

to go to a touring bike. A friend of mine let me ride his

Electra Glide and I decided that was the bike for me.

So in August 2002 I bought an Ultra Classic and by August

2003 I had over 23,000 miles on the bike. This bike opened

up a whole new world for me. In one year I went from coast

to coast. I've been to places that I never thought I'd go.

It's in my blood and I just want MORE!!!

I've had horses, quads, and various other "toys" but I think

I have gotten more enjoyment from this one than all the others.

Hi friends and fellow bikers, just started a new job as

motor-clothes manager at Harley Davidson in San Marcos.

I have 25 years of experience in the clothing industry and

I am looking forward to this job. Now, I want everyone of

you to buy a motorcycle, kidding!

I would enjoy seeing you, stop in & say hello when you have

time. If anyone is serious about buying a bike I recommend

the Motorcycle Safety course. It is such a refresher on riding.

So, if you ever can't reach me on my cell phone, it's because it takes me a couple of min. to get it out of my pocket after riding. Be patient with me. I hope you enjoy the photo. I'm going to be staring at you till you get "your" Harley.

Happy Riding - VWags

 Darcie and her H-D 2001 Fat Boy »  »  » » »

My name is Darcie and I ride a 2001 H-D Fat Boy. I've been

riding for 12 years and LOVE IT! I live in Maine and ride with

a group of great women.

           We call ourselves the Hogsisters!!!

"The Hogsisters"

We call ourselves the Hogsisters - We go on a 4-day trip once a year.

I just got back and have included a great picture of some of us and me

on my baby (that's me on the Fat Boy above this picture).

I went through 4 Harleys to get the one I really wanted.

It seems that every year a new woman jumps in the front seat. I love

to share the experience with them. I also go on one long trip each year

with my husband, Joe. We usually put on about 2000 miles.

Next year we're going to try California.

Darcie & friends on a Charity Ride to NYC. There were 26 women in

the group and three of their bikes were stolen. Right out of the hotel

                parking lot!

Anyway, it all turned out okay for Darcie since she got a new bike -

A 2007 FLHX. The Hogsisters are still riding hard. The group went to

Montreal in 2007. They had a lot of fun!

Hi,

I am glad I found this site. I got my license in August. I learned on this bike and took the safety class. It is a real thrill to see the road instead of the helmet! I love how men look at me when I am riding a bigger bike than they are. The Harley Ultra Classic is a bike a woman can ride as long as you can be flat footed when you are sitting.

Carrie and her custom H-D Fat Boy »  »  »

Hi, I'm Carrie, and this is a photo of my '95 H-D

Custom Fat Boy. I learned to ride 3 years ago after

getting bored with the back seat. This is my 2nd bike. My first was a '95 H-D Heritage Softail, which I loved, but I caught the custom bike fever, and got this awesome Fat Boy.

Learning to ride on my own is probably the most positive thing I've ever done for myself. It's one hell of a confidence booster, and I highly recommend learning to any women who might be entertaining the idea.

Take a rider's course. They're offered in various locations. Check with a local dealer in your area to get more information, and just do it! I am a writer, a model, and a Sales Manager for a motorcycle magazine in the Mid-South. I try to attend as many major bike rallys and events as possible. If you

recognize me at an event, please stop & say 'hello'. I'd love to meet you

Heather and her Low Rider    »    »   »   »  »

My buddy turned me on to this website. Here I am on my

2003 Dyna Low Rider!! I grew up riding with my torturous

older brothers and always loved motorcycles. I always loved

it when I had an old man with a bike and then realized how

much I was missing out on by not having one of my own. I

stopped in to the Harley shop and fell in love with an 883

Sportster.

I bought it and then took the motorcycle safety training class and got my license. The little Sportster got too small for me very quickly and I moved way up to the Low Rider and blew every one away! Guys are funny, once they find out that I ride, all they want to talk about is bikes! Even my Dad and I never had a great deal in common but he loves to talk bikes with me.

I love all bikes and will be getting a BMW as well one of these days. So, all you ladies out there I say - GO FOR IT!!

There is nothing more awesome than getting out there and being strong and independent. Don't start with too small of a bike if you are going to be a serious rider. And ALWAYS RIDE SOBER.. I like to have fun just like everyone but I NEVER EVER party and ride.

You need to be SHARP BABY!
